The CLEAR Strategy
To carry out our vision, mission and values in the community we have developed the CLEAR strategy. At its heart this strategy acknowledges that ‘Diabetes can no longer be solved by medical intervention alone’.
Our CLEAR strategy has five elements. We:
Challenge the community to take an active role in the prevention and management of diabetes by running a variety of programs and events throughout each year. All governments, local, state and federal, to deliver policy that improves the lives of those living with and at risk of diabetes.
Listen to the needs of our members, the community, government, health professionals as well as our own experience to ensure we deliver the best resources and programs to those living with and at risk of diabetes.
Educate to ensure that our health professionals have the highest level of expertise so that the resources and programs that we deliver are the best in the market. We also educate people living with and at-risk of diabetes to understand the best way for them to manage their health through our online and print communication channels as well as our community education programs.
Advocate at local, state and federal government levels so that policy is enacted to improve the lives of those living with and at risk of diabetes. We also advocate for the individual with diabetes to ensure that discrimination against people with this disease is eradicated. To discuss any issues, please call 1300 DIABETES or 1300 342 238 and speak with a Customer Care representative.
