General Practitioners
Following the launch of the "Be Well–Know Your BGL" campaign, which encouraged Australians to get to know their blood glucose level, Diabetes Australia decided to target people most at risk of diabetes… those who have reached the pre-diabetes stage.
Endorsed by the professional bodies involved in the care and management of diabetes in Australia, information packs containing ‘Pre-Diabetes. Act now!’ literature were sent to GP’s and allied health care professionals.
This important medical and lifestyle management data is available to help identify and manage pre-diabetes.
It includes case detection and diagnosis, clinical significance of IFG and IGT, screening for IFG/IGT in at-risk patients, statements on the prevention and delay of type 2 diabetes, eating and physical activity plans, the role of the Glycemic Index, the NH&MRC approved Diabetes Diagnostic Guidelines, and a Diagnostic Interactive Tool which can be downloaded and kept for use on your computer.
