Allied Healthcare Professionals
Following the launch of the "Be Well – Know Your BGL" campaign, which encouraged Australians to get to know their blood glucose level, Diabetes Australia decided to target people most at risk of diabetes… those who have reached the pre-diabetes stage.
Endorsed by the professional bodies involved in the care and management of diabetes in Australia, information packs containing ‘Pre-Diabetes. Act now!’ literature have been sent to allied health care professionals and GPs. This material is available on this website.
To support the campaign, important lifestyle management data is available to help identify and manage pre-diabetes. The web based data includes statements on the prevention and delay of Type 2 diabetes, eating and physical activity plans, the role of the Glycemic Index and the NH&MRC approved Diabetes Diagnostic Guidelines.
HP Information Packs comprise:
-
A covering letter
-
HP Patient/client advice card, which you can lay flat or stand folded
-
Interactive Rub ‘n’ Reveal pads for people to assess their risks
-
A poster for display
The public will be told about the pre-diabetes campaign through a television community service announcement. It features a man who was diagnosed with diabetes after he took the advice in last year’s commercial and checked his BGL.
