This represents our commitment to providing practical support for health professionals – including the latest diabetes information and material.

• COMPREHENSIVE NEW MEMBER KIT
Your ‘New Member Kit’ includes copies of all of the resources we provide to members together with materials specifically designed for Health Professionals to assist in the management of people with diabetes.
• CD-ROM INFORMATION SHEET LIBRARY
A CD-ROM that contains 46 Diabetes Information Sheets covering general diabetes education and healthy eating to print and to help you educate your patients. When we update the library or one of the Information Sheets, we will forward you an updated CD.
• MEMBER PUBLICATIONS
As a member, you will receive a copy of each member publications that are distributed each quarter to each of our specific membership groups – Diabetes Connect (for our general membership), Jellybean Scene (for our members aged 0-12 years), You Said What?! (for our members aged 13-17 years) and Invigorate (for our members with pre-diabetes and gestational diabetes). Note that Invigorate is distributed twice a year.
Diabetes Connect includes interesting articles that address the management of some of the issues and complications that people with diabetes experience. It provides updates on current research and advocacy projects and also includes delicious recipes and member stories and profiles.
• DIABETES MANAGEMENT JOURNAL
Your membership will include receipt of Diabetes Management Journal which was first published in 2002 and has become the benchmark reference for General Practitioners and allied health professionals in managing diabetes. This professional publication is distributed quarterly and written by health experts to better inform you of the latest industry news and management of diabetes.
• DISCOUNTED ATTENDANCE FEES
As a member of Australian Diabetes Council, you will be able to attend any of our seminars, forums and events at the discounted member rates. Health Professionals that have an Organisational membership can send two (2) additional staff members together with the Principal Member to events at the member rate.

Be part of a local group that provides contact with people who live with diabetes to share experiences. Support Groups help fundraise for specific diabetes programs and have regular health professional guest speakers.

Blood glucose meter demonstrations and instructions are available at each of our Resource Centres located at Glebe, Wollongong, Wagga Wagga and Newcastle.

Special category - Australian Diabetes Council Membership for Aboriginal Health Workers
Australian Diabetes Council has developed a series of diabetes Information Sheets for people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
As a member of Australian Diabetes Council, you will receive the diabetes magazine Issues four times a year, a copy of the Healthy Shopping Guide plus 10 special diabetes Information Sheets.
You are also entitled to a 10 per cent discount on products and resources sold by Australian Diabetes Council and discounted entry to seminars and events held by Australian Diabetes Council. The fee is only $16.50 per year.
