Volunteering

How to volunteer

Our volunteers come from diverse backgrounds. All have one important thing in common - each has something special to give!

Australian Diabetes Council's volunteers include the Board of Directors, multi-disciplinary committees, Branch and Support Group members and their office bearers, and a large team of volunteers working at Australian Diabetes Council Head Office in Glebe.

We have around 35 volunteers at Head Office, contributing a total of over 120 hours each week, with individual time ranging from a few hours a day up to several days a week. Their contribution complements the efforts of staff in data entry, mail-outs, dispatch, clerical, stock control, library indexing and special events.

Events

We also have up to 200 volunteers who help our events throughout the year. These events include the Buzz Ball and particularly Diabetes Buzz Day. Working with staff, our volunteers build friendships, extend their network of professional acquaintances and develop a deep sense of belonging to the charity and being part of its future.

Get involved

A sincere thank you goes out to all our wonderful volunteers, past, present and future!
