We acknowledge:
- Elders and Aboriginal brothers and sisters past and present
- The traditional custodians of the land and nations of NSW
- The wrongs of the past and the impact on Aboriginal people and their health
- The holistic nature of Aboriginal health and healing as defined by National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) and accepted by World Health Organisation (WHO).
We aim to improve the health of Aboriginal people living with, and at risk of, diabetes, in a culturally sensitive and inclusive way.
We will achieve this by:
- Engaging with the Aboriginal community
- Developing culturally sensitive and respectful resources and programs
- Maintaining cultural competence as an organisation
Our success will be measured by:
- Our relationships with the Aboriginal community
- An ongoing mutually respectful commitment to improve the health of Aboriginal people living with, and at risk of, diabetes in a culturally sensitive and inclusive way
